Frequently asked questions – Courses

Are your courses suitable for an absolute beginner?

The course was created with the absolute beginner in mind. The only prerequisite for this course is that you have a suitable camera and have read your camera manual.

How do I know if my camera is suitable?

My session is designed for people who have a Digital SLR (DSLR) and ‘mirrorless cameras’ such as ‘micro four thirds’. A guide is that if the lens on the camera can be removed, your camera is suitable. You must be able to set your camera on manual mode so you can adjust the Aperture, ISO, and Shutter speed.

If you’re not sure, contact me.

My session is not suitable for compact digital cameras.

On what days do you run the sessions?

My private, one-on-one courses can be run on any day of the week but is subject to my availability.

If you would like a private small group session, please contact me.

I don’t run sessions on Good Friday or Christmas Day.

How do I pay for my session?

You can choose from three payment options.

  • You can pay via PayPal. You DO NOT have to be have a PayPal account to make payment.
  • You can make a direct deposit.
  • You can make an EFTPOS payment over the phone.

We’ll discuss payment options when you book a date.

Once your payment is confirmed, I will email a receipt and confirm your booking.

Do you run private small group courses?

Yes.

Contact me, to discuss the options available.

Can I purchase a gift certificates for someone special?

Yes. Yes you can.

You can purchase gift certificates via my online store.

How can I pay for a course or gift voucher?

You have a choice of three payment options.

  • Credit card payment via Paypal.
  • Direct deposit to my bank account.
  • EFTPOS payment over the phone or in person.

I have been given a gift certificate, how do I book a course?

Call or email me with your voucher details and we organise a date and get you booked in – easy.

What should I bring with me to the course?

Your camera with a fully charged battery, lenses, memory card plus your camera manual is also sometimes handy for quick reference (not essential).

I suggest you bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle (with water) and some light snacks.

What if I have to cancel my course booking?

If you have to cancel then I will be happy to reschedule to another date providing I am given at least 7 days notice.

Sorry but I am unable to offer refunds (or re-bookings) on cancellations made within 7 days of the course date or for no-shows.

What if it rains on the day?

Despite living in the ‘sunshine state’ it does sometimes rain. If a session has to be cancelled due to bad weather, then we can reschedule.

Sorry but we are unable to offer refunds on sessions rescheduled due to bad weather.
